2. Data we collect
- Identification and contact data: name, email address and WhatsApp/phone number.
- Booking data: event type, boat of interest, date, departure time, duration, number of guests, extras and any notes you write.
- Technical data: language, pages visited and an irreversible hashed fingerprint of the connection, used only to prevent abuse, spam and automated submissions.
We do not request or store financial, banking or card data on this website, nor sensitive personal data. Any payment is handled through external channels agreed directly with you.
3. Purposes of processing
Primary purposes (necessary):
- Handle and follow up on your booking or contact request.
- Prepare quotes, confirm availability and coordinate the on-board experience.
- Send you transactional emails (request confirmation and team follow-up).
- Comply with applicable legal, tax and maritime-safety obligations.
Secondary purposes (optional):
- Send you promotions, seasonal offers and news. You may opt out at any time without affecting your booking.
- Aggregated metrics to improve the site and our services.
4. Security measures
We apply reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your data against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure or alteration:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) across the site and encryption at rest in the database.
- Restricted access: requests can only be read by authenticated administrator staff, enforced by row-level security rules in the database.
- Validation and sanitisation of everything submitted through forms, with anti-bot protection, per-origin submission limits and spam detection.
- Logging of email sends and administrative access, for auditing.
- Data minimisation: we only ask for the data needed for your booking.
No system is infallible; in the event of a breach that significantly affects your rights, we will notify you by email without undue delay.
5. Transfers and processors
We do not sell or trade your personal data. We share information only with providers that help us operate the service (hosting and database, transactional email delivery, site analytics) and with the captains/boat operators delivering your service, strictly as needed to perform it. We may also disclose data when required by a competent authority.
6. Data retention
We keep booking and contact requests while a commercial relationship exists and for up to 5 years afterwards, for tax and dispute purposes. Browsing metrics are deleted automatically after 180 days and technical anti-abuse records after 7 days.
7. Your ARCO rights
You may at any time request Access, Rectification, Cancellation or Objection (ARCO rights) regarding your data, and withdraw your consent or limit its use and disclosure. Send your request to info@boatevent.mx stating your name, the email you contacted us with and the action requested. We will respond within 20 business days.
8. Cookies and measurement technologies
We use local storage to remember your language and measurement tools (e.g. Google Analytics and advertising pixels) to understand site usage. You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings; the site will keep working.
9. Minors
This site is not directed to persons under 18. Bookings must be made by adults; minors may join the experiences accompanied by a responsible adult.
